                                                                Berniece Donaldson

1923 - 2008

MAGNA – Berniece Donaldson, 84, passed away quietly March 11, 2008 at Pioneer Valley Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born August 7, 1923 in Spring City, Utah to Maybert and Leona Swenson Strate.  She married Rodney Odell Donaldson May 20, 1942 in Evanston, Wyoming. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in 1950. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in many callings; she also served with Odell in the Jordan River Temple for many years. Berniece was active in the PTA when her children were in school and served as a local company officer with the DUP for several years. She retired from Litton Industries in 1988. Berniece was noted for her huge family gatherings with her wonderful cooking; rolls, pies, cakes, chicken and dumplings, etc.  She loved and was loved deeply and will be missed by many.

She is survived by children, Kathy Gallyer, Paul (Luana), Wayne (Marilynne), Lynn (Les) Johnson; brothers, Ray, Kent (Herta), Robert (Linda) Strate; sister, Maxine (Gordon) Dean; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Odell; son, David; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and sister, Eva (Howard) Lund.

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 15 at 12 noon in the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 West Breeze Dr. (3320 So.), where friends may call Saturday 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: Peel Funeral Home. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com.
