Afton Halling Holladay Robinson “Grandma Great” Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Afton Halling Holladay Robinson passed away peacefully November 10, 2007 in Brigham City, Utah. She was born October 8, 1923 in Mantua, Utah to Helaman Cannon and Leona Marie Johnson Halling. She married Gerald “Jerry” Thomson Holladay Nov. 24, 1939; he died July 16, 1986. She married Clarence Robinson June 24, 1988. Work, church and family have filled Afton’s life. Her jobs ranged from working at the old Bushnell Hospital and assembling truck axles at Tooele Army Depot to serving as receptionist for Pres. Thomas S. Monson at Deseret News Press. Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served nearly 30 years in the Young Women’s program and along with her husband, Jerry served three missions: Jordan River LDS Temple, the Genealogical Library in Salt Lake City and the Gulf States LDS Mission. Survived by Clarence Robinson; children, Gerald R “Ron” Holladay, Margo (Jim) VanTassell, and Bryan D. (Nancy) Holladay; brother, Lynn Halling; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Jerry; son, Larry; daughter-in-law, Jeneal. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Lake Ridge Ward, 7825 W. 3360 So. Friends and family may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 So., Magna, and Friday 12-12:45 p.m. at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
