Earl  Madison Privett

1912-2010

MAGNA- Earl Madison Privett completed his mortal life peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 18, 2010 just in time to join his beloved Idell for the Saturday night dance.

He was born October 2, 1912 to James and Alice Henline Privett.  He attended Cyprus High School.  Married Idell Lewis August 10, 1940, and together they raised 8 children and enjoyed 70 wonderful years.

Dad worked at Kennecott Copper Corp. for over 40 years, retiring in 1974.  He loved drawing and carpentry.  He, along with his brothers-in-law, built the house he and mom lived in for 68 years.  Dad was very proud of the house he built.  He was meticulous and very detailed in all projects he worked on.

Dad enjoyed participating in anything mom was a part of including family gatherings, vacations, and especially dancing every Tuesday and Saturday.

He is survived by his children, Ron, Dwight, Darrell (Sheila), Guila (Kent) Ellsworth, Mark  (Marsha), Curtis (Debbie), Ava Johnson, and Lisa (John) Shakespear, 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Idell; brothers, Hiram, Sylvester, Chester, and Orson; and sisters, Cora, Martha, Annie and Rena.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Katrina, Jen, and Glenna of Heartwood hospice for the loving and exceptional care they gave dad during his final days.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00am Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., where friends may call both Wednesday 6-8 pm and Thursday 10-10:45 am.  Private interment.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
