Lois Bird Johnston

1920 ~ 2011

Mom passed away peacefully August 31, 2011 after a long and joyful life.  She was born in Magna, Utah on April 10, 1920 to Sarah Jeanette Adamson and Dewey Walter Bird. A Cyprus High School Graduate, she married John “Jack” Johnston in 1940.  Mom enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing bridge.  She loved music and traveling throughout Europe always looking forward to the next bed and breakfast.

Mom worked as a waitress most of her adult life with many years at the Rodeway Inn; all the guests waited to sit in Lois’ section.  She loved her life-long dear friends and spending time with her brothers, sisters and family.  Everyone will remember mom for her sense of humor and her funny stories.  She always made us laugh.

Mom is survived by 4 sons, Brent, Kent (Gail), Jim (Patty), and Mark (Renee). Also survived by 5 siblings, Brent, June, Betty, Joyce, and Eleanor; 8 grandchildren, Dawnee, Natalee, JoAva, Joshua L., Chyme, Zachary, Jason, Joshua and Kelcee; and 8 1/2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Colleen; and brothers, Dice and Lee.
