Lorraine Coon Shields

1927 - 2010

MAGNA – Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Lorraine Coon Shields passed away May 17, 2010.  She was born August 30, 1927 in Magna, Utah to Arthur Coon and Ruth Breeze.  She graduated from Cyprus High School in 1945.  Lorraine married the love of her life, Harold Eugene Shields on December 22, 1947.

Her greatest joy was her family – children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters.  Over the years she has been employed by Tooele Ordinance Depot, EIMAC and retired from Litton.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Linda (Alan) Taylor, Glendale CA, Jeffery (Paula) Shields, West Valley City, UT, and Jerry (Anneli) Shields, Saratoga Springs, UT; brothers, Kenneth Coon and Ferris Coon, Magna, UT; sister, Noriene Lloyd, Salt Lake City, UT; ten grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her beloved husband Harold Shields; parents; brother, Arvel Coon; and sisters, Loretta Coon and Mary Johnson.

A viewing will be held 10:30 am to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S, Magna, UT, where funeral services will follow at Noon.  Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
