Max Samuel Grant

1924 – 2010

MAGNA-Our beloved grandfather, Max Samuel Grant joined his loving sweetheart, Bonnie on March 23, 2010 in West Valley City, Utah.  He was born May 31, 1924 in American Fork, Utah to Samuel Francis and Alice Elenor Ovard Grant.  He married Eliza Bonnie Lee Zito September 6, 1946 in the Salt lake LDS Temple; she died May 25, 2002.

            Max was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings.  He served in the US Navy as a Fire Controlman on a LST during WWII.  He was an accomplished piano and organ player, and truly enjoyed playing for the primary for over 40 years.  As a jack of all trades, his greatest accomplishment was being a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

            He is survived by his grandchildren, Sonnet Grant, Dustin Grant, Eric Grant, and Jennifer McClellan; daughter-in-law, LaRayne Dawson; great grandchildren, Luis, Trinton, Justin, Bryden, Alexia, Kaylee, and Ryan; and loving niece, Shirley Grant.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; son, Karl; and his siblings.

            Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., where friends and family may call both Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.  Interment: American Fork Cemetery.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
