Neil
Jeffrey Bawden
1955 -
2012

Neil
Jeffrey Bawden was reunited with his beloved mother on Tuesday, July 17th,
2012. Born and raised in Magna,
Utah Neil was a proud graduate of Cyprus High School class of 1973.
He married his “luv dove” Sharron Dee Pollock on August 16th,
1975. They spent many happy years
raising their three children in West Valley City surrounded by countless friends
on Mignon Drive. Neil worked for
Utah Kennecott Copper (Later Rio Tinto) for 37 years.
He was intensely loyal to his Union, Family, and Country.
He only bought products made in the U.S.A. and revered service men and
women everywhere. He was especially
proud of his daughter’s service in the U.S. Army, which included two tours of
duty in Iraq. In his leisure time
he enjoyed just about everything life had to offer: fishing, camping, riding
motorcycles, rock n’ roll, movies, card games, water fights with his
grandchildren, Jazz basketball, U of U football, and food of all unique types
(he had a bizarre pallet and tolerance for spices and extremely flavorful
foods). Neil strived for perfection
in everything he did. His cars,
yard, and work were articulated through meticulous precision and beauty.
There are not enough words to describe Neil’s character and generosity.
Noble, kind, dutiful, loving, dedicated, and compassionate just begin to
scratch the surface…
Neil
was preceded in death by his parents Don Sr. and Vivian
Bawden, niece Maria, and in-laws McKay and Maureen Pollock.
His spirit now waits in peace for that great day when through the power
of the Savior Jesus Christ his soul will be reunited with his wife, Sharron ;
son, Brett (Janeen); daughters, Lyndee (Isaac) Figueroa, Jamie (Jason) Hallisey;
brothers, Don Jr. (Marsha) and Paul (Beverly); sister, Kathy (Bill) Shelley;
brother-in-law, Steve (Janis) Pollock; grandchildren, Lucy, Kyla, Isabelle,
Hailey, Xavier, and Ruby. Our
honorable and beloved husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, and friend is free at
last.
