Robyn H Farrell

1947 – 2015

Robyn Lynn Herrick Farrell passed away, Tuesday, September 1, 2015.  She was born July 1, 1947 in Ogden, Utah to William Lockhead Herrick and Afton Edgley Herrick. On June 5, 1970, she married Gary Dean Farrell in Ogden, Utah. Robyn worked at Pioneer Valley Hospital for 25 years.  She worked in many different departments, in many capacities, but her favorite by far was her job as Volunteer Director.  She had a great love and respect for her volunteers.  Robyn's friends and family will remember her as an extremely funny lady who loved making people laugh. One of her favorite things was dressing up on Halloween and sitting outside to scare the trick-or-treaters.  Once her youngest granddaughters were born, she came to the door every year dressed up to see if they would recognize her. Robyn was an exceptional Grandma who loved her grandchildren more than anything in the entire world.  She could often be heard saying that if she knew how much fun grandchildren were, she would have had them first. When her oldest grandchildren lived in St. George, she would think nothing of driving there on a Friday night, bringing them back to her house in West Valley, and driving them back home on Sunday. They will all feel a void without her in their lives. Robyn was an extremely generous person.  You couldn't ever say you liked something when you were with her, or she would buy it for you on the spot. She was always looking for things to buy for others that would make them feel special. Robyn and Gary had a chance to spend time traveling to Puerto Vallarta the last few years of their lives together.  This is one of her most cherished memories, and she felt so fortunate to have that time with him. She is survived by her son, James Farrell; daughter, Tiffany (Sadler) and son-in-law, Dan; grandchildren, Alecia (Brett Flint), Tyler "Golden Child" (Angela), Jamie (Myrtle), Garrison Farrell, and Zach (Teisha) Miller, Maryn and Madelyn Sadler; great grandsons, Jaxten and Kaeden Flint Lindon Farrell, Olivia Farrell and Sadie Miller.  She had a very special relationship with her nieces Shelley Alvey and Julie Castaneda, her nephew, Jeff Herrick and her sister-in-law, Evelyn Hartmann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; parents; grandparents; and brother Billy.  The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of Robyn's friends who have provided her with love, support and laughs throughout her entire life, Legacy Retirement Center, and Jordan Valley Hospital – especially her special nurse Ashton. In lieu of flowers, please spend some time with your family and friends.  That's what Robyn would have wanted. A celebration of life on behalf of Robyn will be held at a later date..
