Barbara Ruth Driffill

June 7, 1944 — August 4, 2022

Mom was born in Salt Lake City to Delbert Elliott Worthen and Fay Olsen Worthen (Yeates) and raised in Magna Utah where she graduated from Cyprus High School in 1962. Mom married Dad on October 4th, 1968, and together, they built a life together in West Valley with the 3 of us and, at various times, dad’s children from his first marriage. Mom was fiercely dedicated to her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family. Her favorite times were around the holidays, days by the swimming pool, and family reunions. She was the happiest when we were all together! Everyone that knew her knows that Barb loved to cook for everyone, and she spent hours on end crocheting, crafting and watching her children & grandchildren do most anything!

Mom is survived by her amazing husband of 53 years, Frank Driffill, children Tom Driffill (Mary), Nikki Peck (Steve), Scott Driffill (Rhonna); stepchildren Luanne Coon (Lynn), Jana Rae Cahoon (Ben), Ken Driffill (Rosa), Dan Driffill (Melissa), & Glen Driffill (Cheryl); grandchildren Payden Driffill, Ethan Driffill, Grace Driffill, Aster Peck, Keelin Peck & Dayton Worthen; sister Dellene Alvis (Spen), & brothers Delyn Yeates (Vickie), Rick Yeates (Sharla), Don Yeates (Val) & Tim Yeates.

Preceded in death by her father Delbert Worthen, mother Fay Yeates, loving and dedicated stepfather Leo Keith Yeates; brother Michael Yeates, sister Cora Jean ‘Cork’ Miller and infant brother Delbert Worthen.

Mom’s life on earth came to an end because of Leukemia but her spirit lives on in so many of us. She fought hard from start to finish and her courage and strength are truly inspirational.

The family would like to offer our heartfelt gratitude to the team of nurses, specialists, and doctors at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. There are no words that can describe how indebted we are for the love and kindness that this team gave to our mother.

We would like to invite everyone to join us at Magna Park (West Pavilion) on Sunday, August 14th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM to celebrate mom’s life. Dad would love to see you! Also, Mom loved all things pink so if you have something pink to wear, please do!

With love to all

Tom, Nikki, & Scott

In lieu of flowers, please cook a big meal and share it with loved ones in remembrance of mom and always think of her when you see anyone crocheting or listening to classic country music!
