Ben Sorenson, age 57, passed away on July 20, 2025, in South Jordan, Utah. Born on June 16, 1968, in Fort Worth, Texas, Ben brought joy and resilience to those around him throughout his life.

He graduated from Carbon High School in 1987. During his time there, he was honored as runner-up in the Mr. Carbon contest—an achievement that reflected his spirited presence and enthusiasm for school life.

Ben was also a proud champion in the Special Olympics, where his determination and sportsmanship shone brightly. His achievements were a source of pride not only for himself but also for those who supported and cheered him on.

In his adult years, Ben lived in Orem in a group home for individuals with disabilities. There, he formed deep friendships and participated in countless activities and adventures that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.

In recent years, Ben was cared for by North Eastern Services. The staff there treated him like family, providing compassionate support that allowed him to thrive with dignity and love during the final chapter of his life.

He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Berniece Sanders (David), Cindy Beggs (Barry), Trina Disera (Steve), Kari Sorenson (Lucinda), and many nieces and nephews. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Ell B. Sorenson and Patricia Lynn Sorenson, and his nephew Joshua Loy.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who remember his strength and spirit. A viewing will be held on July 25, 2025, at 05:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 Magna Main Street. Burial will take place Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Koosharem Cemetery.
