Carole H. Newman

Carole H. Newman, 71, passed away on April 6, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born on May 31, 1954, in San Diego, California, to Frances Elaine Stamey and Thomas Samuel Hansen. After her parents later divorced, Elaine moved her family to Utah, where Carole grew up and graduated from Clearfield High School.

Carole worked as a waitress at Jade Terrace for two years, then at Fram Oil Filter for five years. She later built a long and dedicated career at Zions Bank, where she worked for 38 years before retiring in June 2016.

Carole loved spending time with her grandchildren and created many special memories with them. Grandma was probably her favorite title of all! She enjoyed Bunco nights with the ladies, camping trips with her husband and her brother Andy, and bowling—where she was part of a league for many years.

Carole was married to Jerry Talbot in 1978, and they later divorced. She went on to meet the love of her life, Daniel Newman. Carole and Daniel were married on March 1, 1985, in South Salt Lake City, Utah, and she was grateful to spend the rest of her life with him by her side.

To her niece Sarah, Carole always thought of you as her angel. Your selfless gift of a kidney gave her more time and meant more than words could ever express. She loved you dearly.

To Debbie, Owen, Jim, Barbra, Karen, and Lisa—Carole always cherished you as family, and you meant so much to her.

Carole is survived by her loving husband, Daniel; her son, Jerry (Loraina); her brothers, Scott (Diana) and Doug (Colleen); her grandchildren, Daycia (Austin), Jayce, Dayton, and Chance; and her great-grandchildren, Luka and Alithea.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Elaine Stamey and Thomas Samuel Hansen, and her brother, Andy.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. Magna Main St., Magna, Utah.
