After 76 years of life, Charles Stephen Connelley, Senior, passed away November 26, 2022 at his home in Magna, Utah, from cancer.

Born May 24th, 1946 in Utah to Charles and Lillian Connelley, Charles grew up in the Salt Lake valley with his older sister Katherine and brother Jay. He went to serve in the Navy where at a USO he met his wife, Dorothy Jane. Two weeks after meeting, they were married. They celebrated 53 years of love and happiness together earlier this year. He was a fun, compassionate, and supportive father to three sons: Chris, Charles, and Patrick. A member of the local union, he worked for over 30 years as a plant operator at Kennecott.

Charles was happiest when he spent time with his family. He loved to travel and go on cruises with his wife. He loved playing games, especially Bingo, Sudoku, and Monopoly. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and deer hunting. He was kind, caring, and generous with his time. Charles was fascinated by computers, electronics, and mechanics — he was constantly in the middle of building or fixing something. As the family mechanic, he repaired many vehicles, always willing to help someone in need. From kits, he even built a TV and a pinball machine that his family enjoyed for decades.

Charles is survived by his sister Katherine; brother Jay; his wife, Dorothy; 3 sons, Chris J. (Danielle), Charles S. Jr, and Patrick M. (Laxmi); and 3 grandchildren, Allie, Zach, and Aditya.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family can donate to the Utah Food Bank in his memory.
