Connie Keetch Johns

1939 - 2010

Connie Keetch Johns, age 71, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2010, at home in South Jordan surrounded by her family.  She was born on June 24, 1939 in Murray, Utah to Ray and Reva Downs Keetch.

Connie grew up in Magna, Utah and graduated from Cyprus High School where she served as a class officer and junior prom queen.  She married her high school sweetheart, William F. Johns in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 12, 1958.  Connie worked as an Executive Secretary for a number of years while Bill was attending the University of Utah.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served as Stake and Ward Relief Society President as well as many other callings.  She and Bill raised their family in Magna, and later followed Bill's employment to Houston, Texas and Bakersville, California.  They retired to their present home in South Jordan in 2001.

Connie loved her family and always made an original birthday card every year for each member.  She was an excellent cook, homemaker and home decorator.  She loved to entertain family and friends and was known for her beautiful home and delicious meals.  Connie was a friend to everyone she met.  Her smile lit up the room and her positive attitude was contagious.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill; children, Jeff (Lisa), Kyle (Marie), and Julie (Troy) Bennett; eleven grandchildren; sister, Karen Westover; and brother, Cal (Shauna).

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vicki Martin; and brothers-in-law, Randy Martin and Jon Westover.

The family appreciates the loving efforts of the liver transplant team at IMC.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in the Jordan River 6 th Ward, 11473 S.
