Darel Loran Gagon, 73, of Magna, Utah, passed away on February 22, 2026.
Darel was born on April 29, 1952, in Price, Utah, to Ersel Gagon and Yetta Lukton. Throughout his life, he reinvented himself more than once—first working in the coal mines near Price, then as a motorcycle mechanic with a special love for Harley-Davidsons, before returning to school to become an electrical engineer. He later made another career change and worked as a plant operator for the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake & Sandy, where he retired.
Darel loved being outdoors and felt most at home in the mountains. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, exploring nature, and anything involving Harleys. He was known for his sharp wit, his love of a good prank, and his ability to laugh just as hard when he was the target—keeping everyone around him on their toes.
He is survived by his wife, Meryle Gagon; his brother, Terry Gagon (Eleanor); his children, Shane Gagon (Gina), Mike Gagon (Jenny), Brad Gagon, Vanessa Robinson (Tony), Keena Laws-Clay (Brandon), and Dave Torres; his grandchildren, Whitney, Taylor, Jordyn, Lexi, Ryan, Brady, Tyler, Rylee, Olivia, Evelyn, Gage, Andres, Shayli, Taryn, Akiya, and Curtis; and ten great-grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes, Darel will be cremated, and no funeral services will be held. He will be dearly missed and lives on in our memories.
