Darlyn Robertson

Darlyn K. Robertson, 69, passed away on September 26, 202,5 in Magna, Utah. She was born on February 24, 1956, in Norfolk, Virgini,a to June "Jerry" and Dorothy Openshaw. Darlyn married Mike Robertson on November 14, 1975 in Tooele, Utah. 

Darlyn spent her life doing everything right alongside her high school sweetheart, Mike. Fate brought them together from Norfolk, Virginia, and Granite City, IL, to Tooele, UT. They married on November 14, 1975. Together they welcomed their first daughter, Michelle, in December 1979. A son, James, came in October 1984, and a daughter, Elizabeth, in September 1986. 

Darlyn worked in the medical field for many years as a medical assistant, in the ER, and in the doctor's office. She had a passion for Girl Scouts and landed a job as an event coordinator with the Girl Scouts of Utah Council. She enjoyed every moment working closely with the lower-income schools and girls. 

Darlyn worked as a sample giver at Sam's Club, where her outgoing personality made her many friends. Again, that personality proved to shine through while working at Smith's in the deli. 

Darlyn and Mike spent over 50 years together, camping, fishing, and bowling in leagues. Mike went with her to Girl Scout events. She helped him with brick-laying jobs. They spent a month camping in Canada and years camping with family and friends all over Utah. Together they created a Dutch oven cooking catering business, where they made even more friends. 

Darlyn is survived by her husband, Mike Robertson; her children, Michelle, James, and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Samanth (Joey), Damian, Autumn, Madison, Logan, and Easton; and great-grandchildren, Ruger and Nova.

Darlyn is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Dorothy Openshaw, and her sister-in-law, Marcina Robertson.

Funeral Services will be held on October 15, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. 2840 S. 9000 W., Magna, UT. A funeral mass at 11 am. A Celebration of Life to follow directly afterwards at 12 pm.
