David LaVar Oliver

May 24, 1956 — December 5, 2022

Born in Magna, Utah to Vern Oliver and Catherine V. Smith, David passed away peacefully after a short battle with Leukemia.

Survived in life by his three sons Jamin, Kyle, Jeremy, sister Shauna Valladolid, brother Danny, sister Debbie Valdez's children, and their families. Proceeded in death by his parents, and Debbie.

From a young age his faith in God grew, which helped him overcome many of life's obstacles. At the age of 16 he started his life career as a Butcher (meat cutter) at Glenns Meats. Throughout his career he worked all around the Salt Lake Valley, and held many years as a Manager. After retirement, he continued his career in St. Maries, Idaho where he enjoyed living near his brother and was able to enjoy nature often.

He had a great love for nature and the outdoors. He often enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. One of his greatest achievements was the family he created and immensely loved.  Along with his three boys, he had four granddaughters, a great grandson, and a great granddaughter on the way. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

At his request, he was cremated and his ashes will be placed in the Ocean near a loved one. In lieu of flowers he suggested people plant trees or donate to their favorite charity.
