“Gone Fishin”

Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1957, in Salt Lake City, UT to Richard “Dick” Nieser and Kay Wood. Dennis was the oldest of six children until years later his dad gave him three more little sisters with his stepmother Cathy Nieser.  He was a man of many words, a very wise man, and quite the philosopher. There wasn’t a person on earth he couldn’t talk to.  Many people would regularly seek advice from him.

Dennis met his best friend Dave Haines at five years old, they turned out to be the best of friends, like brothers. Dave passed away recently, and we know he was waiting for him with a cold one and a fishing pole.

At a very young age, he met his first wife Renee Firneno and had his first two daughters, Jennifer and Jacquelynn.  Not long after, he met his second wife, Holie Parker and had two more children, Jesse Bryan and Jerie Lynne.  Later in life he met and married Lori Soper, while the two did not have any children together, they did have a couple of wonderful kitties that he adored. His wife, children, and family were his whole world, he cherished each and every one of them.  His children gave him many grandchildren who he absolutely adored. His most precious asset to him would most definitely be his family!!

Dennis was a very talented man. A Jack of all trades you could say! He drove a semi-truck hauling produce for Montana Brand for nearly 40 years before retiring early 2019. He took pride in his job and kept a lot of families fed for many years. He was full of humor, loved telling jokes and funny stories.  If you were lucky enough to be in his presence, he was guaranteed to have you on the floor in tears from laughter. He was a very passionate man who loved with his whole heart and soul! Anything he did in life; he did with every ounce of his being.

He loved listening to, but especially making music. From his youth playing in bars till his dying day recording albums in his studio.  The only thing he loved more than music was his beloved family, son and daughters, grandkids, and the love of his life, Lori S. Nieser.

Dennis was always the ladies’ man, definitely a good-looking man, he never had any problems getting a date, though he was very picky.  In fact, he wasn’t looking for just another pretty face, he had his heart set on love and finding “The one”. After years of driving truck around the country, he got a set run to Montana where he found the love of his life. One day in 1997, he was hauling a load of produce to Albertsons in Billings, MT and found her.  While unloading, there she was, his girl, Lori.  As he introduced himself, and they got to know each other, sparks were immediately flying.  He got to the point where he was so excited to go to work just so he could see her.  Before you knew it, they had fallen in love, and she moved to Salt Lake City.  They were married June 12, 1998.  Dennis and Lori were madly in love, soulmates as he would say, the love of each other’s life!

Dennis passed away peacefully, Monday December 13, 2021, with family by his side.  He is survived by his loving wife Lori S. Nieser, son: Jesse Bryan (Alana) Nieser, daughters: Jennifer (Mathew) Fagen, Jacquelynn Poasa, Jerie Lynne (Matthew) Smith, along with his beloved grandchildren. He will be remembered for his young and loving heart, his amazing sense of humor, his music, and his undying love for his family.

Due to the timing and circumstances, we will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
