Don Romrell

Don Thomas Romrell

1972-2019

Don Romrell, 46, was born Nov. 10, 1972 to Lee Romrell and Dian Bulkley Stewart in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away at the University of Utah Hospital, Oct. 4, 2019 of an apparent heart attack. Don spent his younger years in West Valley City. Don was very artistic, and drawing was a real joy to him. He attended the local schools, including Granger High School.

Don served an LDS Mission in Illinois. He had a great love for the people in that area. He attended the University of Utah and Steven Henager’s college studying Computer Science. He enjoyed being an El Kalam Shriner and a Mason, and helping young children at the Shriner hospital. He participated in the parade for the Shriners for several years. He had a great compassion for the patients there.

Don married Catherine Nelson Nov. 13, 1998 in Salt Lake City. Later divorced.

Don had a military forum site and enjoyed computer graphics. He had a love for weapons of all types and loved Dungeons and Dragons games, and collected comics along with Star Wars items. He and his older brother, Greg, could get into trouble together faster than a person could blink. They spent many days each year hunting and fishing with their grandpa Ralph. Don loved his family and friends very much. He had a great love for the outdoors, but also loved doing things on the computer.

He is survived by his brother, Greg Jonas; his parents, Lee and Dian; step dad, Terry H. Stewart; step mother, Martha Romrell; grandfather and grandmother, Ralph and Ramona Bulkley; step brothers, Kristopher and Kyle Stewart; half brother, Craig Romrell (Charla); half sisters, Loni Hernandez (Adam), Amy Lawrence (Andrew), Emilee Hawkins (Trent); step sisters, Penny and Kristen Jonas, Brittney Woolboy (Harry), Katie Betts (Sean), Camille Campbell; and step brother, Jordan Campbell. Preceded in death by his step dad, Greg Jonas; step mother, Glenda Romrell; grandmother, Nola Bulkley; and his uncle, Michael Bulkley, Deeon Bulkley.

A private gathering will held for the family. If you wish to honor his passing, please do something nice to someone in need.

A Celebration of Life for Don will be held Friday, Oct. 11, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Cobble Creek Stake Center, 8176 south 5140 west, West Jordan.
