Dorothy Moore Larsen

1927 ~ 2015

Dorothy Ina Moore Larsen passed away February 9, 2015, on her wedding anniversary and dad’s birthday. Mom was born January 11, 1927 in Duchesne, UT to Marvel Lamb and Verda Fitzewater Moore. She graduated from Duchesne High School. Mom married Elray Dean Larsen February 9, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died May 20, 1970. She was very active in the LDS Church holding several positions throughout her life. Mom loved working on family genealogy, traveling with her cousin, Marsha Fitzewater Reynolds to West Virginia meeting and gathering family history. Mom made beautiful quilts for all her children, grandchildren and friends. We all have wonderful memories of her homemade candies and her hand dipped chocolates. She loved the mountains camping with family and friends, working in her garden, and canning. She is survived by her 3 sons, Jerry Dean Larsen, Ronald Elray (Kathy) Larsen, and Christian L. (Becky) Larsen; 2 daughters, AnnaDee (Larry) Fairclough and Glada Renee Larsen; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother, Doug (Connie) Moore; sisters, Carol (Guy) Mayhew and DorisAnn Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Susan Larsen. Preceded in death by her loving husband; parents; and very special brother, Richard and older sister, Marvella Stevens.

Special thanks to our loving sister, Glada for living and caring for mom. Also, a special thanks to Access Hospice and the many loving Relief Society ladies who helped care for her.

As she requested, a small graveside service for family and close friends will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 S. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
