Evelyn Miller

September 26, 1939 — June 23, 2018

Our Dear Mother, grandmother and great grandmother Evelyn Lenore Dilley Miller, age 78, finished her journey on this earth June 23 rd , 2018.  She died from complications after heart surgery.  Evelyn was born in Magna, Utah to Norval & Rose Fisher Dilley on Sept. 26, 1939.  She married her high school sweetheart, K Sugden Miller on June 16, 1956.  They were married  for 44 years  before his passing in 2000.  She was a devoted, loving wife and caring  mother to their 4 children.

Evelyn loved her family and cherished the moments shared around her warm kitchen table. Her door was always open and the coffee was always on.   Evelyn enjoyed watching all her kids and grandkids sports,  going on trips with her family and friends, celebrating other people’s accomplishments, and giving cards and gifts.  She cared for those who were hurting and in need of her love and friendship.   She was  a  member of, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  She loved God and raised her children in the faith.  Evelyn worked at Cyprus High School for many years in the, hot lunch program.  After her husband’s passing  she enjoyed the  wonderful companionship of her special friend Elwin Talbot.


She is survived by her children; Steve (Laurie) Miller, Trudy Miller (Paul) Jewell, Matt (Teri) Miller, daughter-in-law, Becky (Jim) Hughes, Grandchildren, Ben (Heather) Miller, Heather (Scott) Harris, Alex Miller, Holly (Greg) Bennett, Chanelle (Brandon) Williams, Brianna Jewell,(Jake), Joseph Jewell,  Nathan Jewell,  Casey (Kelli) Miller, Monica (Beau) Pitts, Rachel (Justin) Gurr, Mason (Cierra) Miller, Zane Miller, Gavin Clark, Great Grandchildren Madilynn, Tyler, Ben, Clara, Sydni, Creighton, Murphy, Alistair and 3 more on the way.

In addition her caring and faithful sister and brothers,  Delores Vance, Narve Dilley, Paul Dilley, Denny Dilley, Kenny Dilley and many  beloved nieces and nephews.


Evelyn was preceded  in death by her  parents, husband,  son,  Russell K Miller, sister, Gladys Merrill, and a daughter-in-law,  Shirlyn Miller.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 2 nd at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 2840 South 9000 West, Magna.

Viewing will be held at Peels Funeral Home(8525 West 2700 South), where friends and family may gather to celebrate her life on  Sunday July 1 st 6-7 p.m. Memorial from 7 pm, following the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made to  Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (basketball program for youth) in Magna.
