Faivaai Faauli, a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunty, niece, and friend. It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Faivaai Asotau Fa'auli on May 13, 2026, at her cherished home. A beacon of love and strength, Faivaai was a woman of remarkable courage and unwavering dedication, whose life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and community.
She was born in Pago Pago, American Samoa, on October 25, 1948, to father Asotau Suameli Ulufaleilupealootuiatua and mother Tapaauolealataua Fauatea Otineu Ulufale, both of whom preceded her in death.
Faivaai was the oldest of 2 children, Vaiutuitua Tagilima Asotau Ulufale, who preceded her in death. She loved her sister.
She married her best friend, Ionatana Faauli, on May 20, 1983. Together, they built a life rich in love and service, until Ionatana's passing, which preceded hers.
Faivaai had three children, Repeka, Temukisa, and Elena, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, who she leaves behind to mourn her loss.
She dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Certified Nurse Assistant, a role she fulfilled with compassion and diligence. Even after retirement, her nurturing spirit continued as she supported her husband in their shared ministry. Faivaai was one of the pioneers of the Ekalesia Faapotopotoga Kerisiano Samoa, First Congregational Christian Church in Magna, Utah, where she found joy in serving and uplifting her community.
Faavai was hardworking, determined, and fiercely loving. She was the heart of her family as she devoted her life to her children and loved ones. Her home was always open to others. Those who knew her speak of her as a woman of quiet strength and unyielding determination, as she led with kindness. She brought comfort, laughter, and wisdom to all who knew her. Her love and guidance shaped generations, and she will be remembered for her warmth and generosity. She loved deeply and was deeply loved.
Her life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and an unyielding devotion to her family. Gone from our sight, never from our hearts. Her children, who rise up to call her blessed, are a testament to her enduring influence and the unconditional love she offered, reflecting the heart of her Creator.
As we celebrate Faivaai's remarkable life, we are reminded that her memory is a treasure, her life a blessing. Her love has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and as we carry her spirit forward, we find solace knowing that she is now at peace.
