Our beloved George Doutis, 78, of Magna went home to heaven May 6, 2014 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He lived life to the fullest until his last days, where he was surrounded by his family.  He was born in Magna, Utah on April 30, 1936 to the late Harry and Mary Doutis.  George graduated from Cyprus High School in 1954, he married Myrna Mann later divorced, married Jean Doutis in 1973.

Growing up he always helped his mother provide for the family with his hard work, he was a giving man who loved everyone around him.

George retired from Kennecott after 31 years of service and later owned the Filling Station Club with his brother, Tony.  He enjoyed his game of golf, and was a big fan of the Utes, Yankees and the Jazz. George attended many games with his brothers. He loved his trips to Wendover and enjoyed his last trip there on April 30 th .

George is survived by:   Jean Doutis, Children: Jenny, Arv, Tammy, Wayne, and Kim. Granddaughters: Tangie and Mistee, Great-grandsons:  Kohen and Gage, Sisters:  Helen (Roy Lynn) Bailey, Janet Doutis, Brothers:  William, Tony (Mary) & Harry, Nick (Sheila) and many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his sons; George Doutis, Jerry Johnson and brother Ted Doutis.  The family would like to thank Harry Doutis, Caresource and Cancer Specialists for their compassion and loving care.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, May 12 th at Holy Trinity Cathedral 279 S. 300 W.  Salt Lake.  Viewing will be on Sunday May 11 th from 6 to 8 pm at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 So.
