Gerry Gober (77) passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2025, in West Valley City, Utah.
A tribute to a loving and caring Husband, Brother, Father, Grandpa, and Friend.
Gerald (Gerry) Gober was born on November 14, 1948, to Hubert Silas Gober (Tex) and Henrietta Jewel Jenson in Logan, Utah. He married the love of his life, Ruth Irwin Gober, on March 22, 1969, with whom he spent 53 wonderful years! Gerry and Ruth had three sons whom they cared for and loved so much.
Gerry was a kind and generous man who never hesitated to help someone out with anything and everything! Gerry made many friends throughout his life, and always said he wanted to be remembered as a nicezz guy!!
Gerry was a proud veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1972. Gerry bravely served his country during a tour in the Vietnam War and had many amazing stories from his military service. Gerry worked at Kennecott and enjoyed his employment there. For the rest of his career, Gerry worked in the heating and air conditioning service industry as an HVAC technician. Gerry made many lifelong friends during his career.
Gerry enjoyed his life and retirement by spending time with and taking care of his beloved wife, three sons, seven grandchildren, and many pets. Gerry also enjoyed working on cars, going fishing, taking Wendover trips, thrift shopping, and "just going for drives". Gerry loved spending time and hanging out with his loyal companion dog, "Loki".
Gerry is survived by his sister, Judy Murdock, Terry Gober, and Mike Gober; his three sons, Jason (54), Jared (52) & Heather, Joshua (43) & Danielle; his seven grandchildren, Jordan, Amethyst, Karissa, Lexi, Hannah, Landon, and Oliver. Also, his best friend & dog "Loki".
He was preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta Jewel Murdock; father, Hubert Silas Gober (Tex); wife, Ruth Gober; and brother, William Murdock.
Gerry will be placed in the memorial wall at Utah Veterans' Cemetery in Bluffdale, Utah, alongside his wife, Ruth Gober.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time. (To be determined)
