Our father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, Gerald R. Thomas lost his battle with earthly life November 12, 2011.  Gerald was born Feb 2, 1940 to Grace Bailey and Rhys Farnes Thomas.  He lived in Magna until he was 15 then moved to California where he graduated from Watsonville High School .  He married Teresia Fletcher in 1966 and later divorced, they had three children together.

Gerald was a frequent visitor of the Magna Senior Center and loved to play bingo, donimos (as he called them), pickle and many card games.

He is survived by his three children, Mark (Heather) Thomas, Gerald Thomas Jr., and Elizabeth (Matthew) Hamilton; sister, Dorothy Elmer; brothers, Jim (Cheryl) Nelson, and Dan Nelson; and his 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Alissa, A.J. and Jake Thomas, Sedra Thomas, and Shelby Hamilton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father; brothers; grandchildren, Jack & Johnathan Hamilton; uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

A memorial will be held in his honor at the LDS Church located at 8400 West 3100 South, Magna, UT on Saturday December 3 rd , 2011 at 11am.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up to help pay for the cost of funeral expenses at US Bank under the name Gerald R. Thomas account number: 153152464142.  Any remaining money will be donated to the Promises Hospital location at LDS Hospital , Salt Lake City , UT in Gerald's name.  Many thanks go out to the nurses and doctors at Promises.
