Gordon LaMonte Kelson

April 5, 1957 — July 18, 2023

Gordon passed away unexpectedly July 18th, Gordon grew up in Magna, Utah where he also attended Cyprus High School. He was an active member in the The of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for all his life. He soon after married Vonna DuMicich March 4th 1977, (div). they then had two sons Adrian and Andy and resided in Magna.

Gordon worked for Kennecott and Hercules/ATK for most of his career, he was also very good at working on cars and with anything to do with computers. Gordon always took most seriously looking his best in a nice suit and never minded a stellar tie and clip. He grew up having many good friends and family to go hunting, hiking, and fishing with. He especially loved heading up to the Uintas to do some fly fishing with his boys and his Uncle Jerry. He also loved hopping in the truck with the boat in tow heading down to Lake Powell with his good friend Dewayne Meyer. He enjoyed the family gatherings at the grandparents’ home with all his sisters and family where there was always a bowl of rice pudding or a brick of homemade fudge. In life Gordon enjoyed most being with his two boys whether it was hiking, fishing, skiing or just going out for some good Mexican food. He recently had some surgeries on his knees and with some hard work and rehab was able to get back to the things he loved to do like helping his mother in the yard and going to the market or just to go for a day hike. Later in life he made many trips back to New York to visit his sons and their families, embracing every day he was there. He got to visit Yankee stadium for the first time, which he loved.

He will always be in our hearts as a good human being despite the difficult avenues that came before him, and he will be appreciated for all the good he has done on this earth during his time here.

Preceded in death by his Father Darrell Lamonte Kelson and his brother Darin Dee Kelson.

He is survived by his most loving mother, Katherine Joyce Kelson; his sons who he loved unconditionally, Adrian Kelson (Jennifer) and Andrew Kelson (Tiffany); his sisters, Jill Roberts (Don), Sondra Erickson (Ron), Jan Musselman (Robert), and Kathleen Kelson; five grandchildren, Kayla, Ryan, Megan, Savannah, and Bailey; as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
