HOPE HOWLETT DAVIS LATHAM

Our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Hope Wowlett Davis Latham passed away suddenly December 19, 2011 at the age of 88. She was born July 17, 1923 in Monroe, Utah to William Jasper and Clarisa Howlett. Hope was raised in Kanosh and spent her teen age years in Magna where she graduated from Cyprus H.S. She married Vernal Jay Davis December 29, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with 2 children. Jay passed away May 26, 1954 leaving her to manage their lumber and hardware store at the age of 30. Hope married Ronald George Latham August 13, 1955 in Las Vegas, NV. They had 3 sons.

Hope enjoyed bowling, reading, doing crossword puzzles and was a fan of the JAZZ and BYU basketball. As an active member of the LDS church she had many callings.  She had many friends and loved helping them, and was loved by them. Most of all she loved her family, especially her little grandchildren. As 5 year old Austin said, "She is my favorite Grandma", all us agree.

Hope is survived by husband; daughter, Gail (Dennis) Warr; sons, Jerry (LuLu) Davis, Douglas (Sue) Latham, Corey (Vickie) Latham, and Randy ( Rowena) Latham; sister, June (Homer) Page; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband; parents; and sister, Dawna Alexander.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Hunter 1 st Ward, 3665 S. 6000 W. , WVC.  Viewings will be 6-8 pm, Monday, December 26, 2011 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S. , Magna and Tuesday 11-11:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
