Idell Lewis Privett

1921 - 2010

MAGNA-Idell Lewis Privett completed her mortal life and peacefully returned to her Father in Heaven August 23, 2010 surrounded by her family.

She was born November 5, 1921 to Lorin and Virga Lewis, the oldest of 5 children.  She attended Cyprus High School.  Married Earl Madison Privett August 10, 1940, together they raised 8 children and enjoyed 70 wonderful years together.

Mom was always immaculate in her appearance.  She was an excellent seamstress and wonderful cook.  Her banana cream pie was a family favorite.  She worked at the Highway CafAC., Magna Copper Club, and as a supervisor in the school lunch program for many years at Brockbank Jr. High.

Mom and dad loved to dance and faithfully danced every Tuesday and Saturday at the Eagles Club, Terrace Ball Room, and the Organ Loft where they made many lifelong friends.  She loved family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving, and her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; children, Ron, Dwight, Darrell (Sheila), Guila (Kent) Ellsworth, Mark (Marsha), Curtis (Debbie), Ava Johnson, and Lisa (John) Shakespear; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; brother, Verl Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ardea "Vickie" Leetham, Gwen Mathison, and Nadine Curriston.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Katrina, Jen, and Glenna of Heartwood hospice for the exceptional care they gave mom during her final days.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., where friends may call both Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 10-10:45 a.m.  Private interment.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
