Janet Joy Miller

Janet Joy Miller, age 89, passed away on July 3, 2026 

At Carrington Court Assisted Living Facility at 1928 West 9800 South, South Jordan, Utah 84095 

Janet Joy Jensen was born on February 22, 1937, in Hyrum, Utah, to Elsie Christina Pehrson and Elwood C Jensen 

Janet married Maurice A. Miller on February 12, 1954, in Cache County, Utah. 

Janet was a homemaker and Business partner with Maurice, as she handled the finances for the Painting Business run by Maurice. Janet loved doing Beadwork, making beautiful jewelry for herself, friends, and family. Janet loved to read, as she always had a novel near her favorite places to sit and read. Janet served faithfully as a Visiting Teacher and served for many years as the Ward Librarian in the Hunter Tenth Ward. Janet’s favorite hobby was her search for collectable glass and porcelain figurines. Janet took great pride in her home of 60+ years as the Millers were sole owners and took pride in keeping the home beautiful, inside and outside.  

Janet was plagued by Dementia, and it took its toll on her over the last few years. She passed away peacefully in her sleep as she returned to Our Father in Heaven and her much-beloved family who passed away before her. 

Janet is survived by her four children: Steve and his wife Davalee, Craig, Kori Jensen and her husband Scott, and Jon and his wife Alysha. Also, daughter-in-law, Jane Lancaster, and her husband, Garry. Plus, her two brothers, Max Jensen and Stan Jensen. Also, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. 

Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband Maurice, her mom Elsie, and her dad Elwood. 

Funeral Services are at 5000 West Pavant Avenue, West Valley, Utah 84120. Viewing on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10 am to 11:45 am. The funeral service is in the chapel beginning at noon. 

 The burial service is at Redwood Memorial Estates after the funeral service concludes on Friday.
