Janice Ridd Martin

1927 - 2011

Janice Irene Ridd Martin passed away peacefully on November 25, 2011 in St. George, UT.  She was born March 27, 1929 in Murray to Glen and Almena Irene Hill Ridd.  On February 1, 1947 she married her Cyprus High School sweetheart, Glen W. Martin and they spent 64 fun filled years together.

Janice grew up in Hunter, UT.  She worked and played hard all her life.  She loved to ride horses, spend time in the scenic outdoors riding her motorcycle, driving their ski boat or fly thru fresh snow on her snowmobile.  She loved cars, and taught her four daughters to drive and picked up the name "Lead Foot".

In 1999 Janice and Glen sold the family farm in Hunter and moved to Hurricane, UT.  Janice loved to travel, visiting new places and talking with new people along the way.  She loved the outdoors, working in her yard or relaxing in the warm sun watching the birds and listening to nature around her.

She was employed at Eimac-Varian X-Ray Tube Products for many years until her retirement in 1990.

Janice is survived by her husband; daughters, Sandra Kinsey, Robyn (Larry) Headrick, Cindy (Lawry) Bowden, and Julie Martin; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Brett Lain Bytendorp; great grandson, Zakke Donnelly Latham; and brother, Douglas C. "Pete" Ridd.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. December 1, 2011 at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 S.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers Janice has requested all donations be made to Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 58249 Salt Lake City, UT 84158-0249.
