Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jared Daniel Richhart, 45, of Magna, Utah, unexpectedly passed away on April 25, 2025, due to a massive heart attack. Jared was born on November 10, 1979, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eric Dan Richhart and Marilyn Gail Jensen Richhart.
Jared graduated from Cyprus High School in 1998. He then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Long Beach California Mission from August 1999 to August 2001. For over 20 years, he was a dedicated material handler at the Church Distribution Center.
On July 20, 2006, Jared was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple to Lindsay Brooke Clayton, the love of his life. Together, they lovingly raised four beautiful children: Dakota Lance, Kayla Brooke, Ashlee Beth, and Daniel James. Jared was a devoted father who fiercely loved his children. Family and close friends held a significant place in Jared's heart.
Jared possessed a wonderful sense of humor and had a knack for giving people nicknames. If you are curious about the nickname he may have given you, please feel free to ask his wife. During high school, Jared was a dedicated manager for the basketball and football teams. This passion for sports continued throughout his adult life. He was a loyal fan of BYU and USC, as well as all the Los Angeles teams: the Lakers, Rams, Dodgers, and Kings. His knowledge of sports was truly remarkable; he knew each player's name, their statistics, and their hometown. If you had a sports-related question, Jared was undoubtedly the person to ask.
His all-time favorite team, however, was the Bingham Miners. “He bled Bingham Blue.” In 2014, Jared was honored with the "Biggest Fan Award" from the Bingham Football team. He was and always will be a cherished member of the Bingham Basketball Brotherhood. He proudly supported the Bingham Miners, always with a smile on his face. Jared could always be found courtside or on the field, enthusiastically cheering on the Miners and offering high fives to the players.
Jared is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Lindsay Richhart; and his children, Dakota, Kayla, Ashlee, and Daniel. He is also survived by his father, Eric Richhart; sister, Heidi (Bryan) Walls; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Celeste (Matthew) Knight, Diedre (Michael) Wright, Carli (Ryan) Karren, Caleb (Sarah) Clayton, Samuel (Traci) Clayton, Mackenzie (Jon)Stockton, and McKenna (Jordan) Roblyer; and 40 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Richhart; his uncle, Larry Jensen; his grandparents, Wayne and Wilma Jensen, and Roy and Erika Richhart; and his father-in-law, Dwight Clayton.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at noon at the church located at 7525 W. Washington Rd., Magna, Utah, 84044. A viewing will be held before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Steve from Peel Funeral Home of Magna for his compassionate assistance with the arrangements for Jared. We deeply appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from family and friends; it has meant the world to us. Special thanks to the Spencer 5th Ward.
Jared's Father, Eric, would like it to be known that Jared was a mighty descendant of Patriotic Warriors who fought in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.
Peace out, J-Dog. We will miss you dearly…
