Jay Smith

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by family. He was born March 1, 1937 in Murray Utah to Brigham and Arva Boulter Smith.

Kent was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and camp. He especially loved spending time up in the Uintas.  Kent was a candy junky and had a sweet tooth the size of a woolly mammoth. He was known for his sense of humor and loved to tease everyone. Most of all he loved his family and they him.

Kent is survived by his children; Phil Williams, Diane (Dave) Mecham, Jason (Cindy) Smith, Helene (Kevin) Heywood, Coy (Josette) Cox, Michelle (Robert) Maguhn,  22  grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, sisters; Leola (Kent) Rowley, Noell  Clifford,  dear friend and former spouse, Lorraine.

Proceeded in death by his grandson, Cameron Spaulding, parents, brothers, Barton, Burt Smith.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday, August 21, 2015 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W Magna Main St. (2700 S). Visitation will be 10-11:45 am prior to services.
