John Joseph Egleston

John Joseph Egleston, age 88, packed up one final time and hit the road to his heavenly destination on August 30, 2025. Born June 15, 1937, in New York to Harold and Sadie Egleston, John spent his life moving not only furniture but also hearts - with love, laughter, and a steady supply of dad jokes. 

He survived by the love of his life, Lorraine, who was his partner in every adventure for 67 years. Together, they built a beautiful family: Pam Jeter (Sid), Terri Staropoli (John), Johnny Egleston, Tandy Egleston, and Steven Egleston (Erica). John was a proud grandfather to Brittney Bouc (Robin), Jacob Jeter, Jordan Jeter, and Shelby Mucci (Alex), and a dotin ggreat-grandfather to Sadie and Madeleine. 

John spent his career as a professional mover, packer, and driver—a job that perfectly suited his dependable spirit and hardworking hands. But it was outside of work where his true gifts shone: cheering anyone up with dad jokes, lifting the room with his harmonica and Hawaiian music, and reminding everyone that the best vacations were about being together. He loved gardening, fishing, camping, cruising, and family vacations. He was fun-loving, funny, trustworthy, and always dependable - the kind of dad and husband who could fix things and make you laugh while doing it. 

John leaves behind not just memories, but a legacy of laughter and love. To his family, he leaves this promise: " We will be together again." Though he's gone, we imagine him somewhere planting a garden, playing his harmonica, and telling the angels, "Did you hear the one about...?"
