John "Hutch" Hutchins

John Theodore Hutchins passed away August 4, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 22, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah. His Parents are Eldon and MaryLou Hutchins.


Survived by Dorothy Hamby, his companion of 23 years, and her children, Kathleen Nye (Jeffrey) Michael Hamby (Deb) and Heather Hamby; brothers, Ed Hutchins (Allison), Gene Bailey (Shirley), Todd Bailey (Jeanette), RJ Bailey. Preceded in death by his parents; step daughters, Shawna Hamby and Kelly Vake; and his doggy, Lucy.

 

John enjoyed many things, especially trips to Cabo San Lucas, MX with Dorothy and her children.
He spent a lot of time in Duschene, Utah where he loved a few cold beers while tinkering with his RV as well as took a lot of pride taking care of his beautiful yard.

 

He served in the US NAVY and served many positions at the VFW in Magna, Utah including Commander.

 We all want to give a very special thank you to the hospice team and his nurse, Sara.

 

A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 2 - 4 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. Magna Main St. Private interment.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Magna VFW, 9057 W. Magna Main St., August 9, 2023 from 5 - 7 p.m..
