Our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, John Sterling Markham passed away April 12, 2010 after battling Diabetes for 25 years.

He was born November 13, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Kathleen Knudsen and Larry Jack Markham.

John was a caring uncle and truly loved his nieces.  He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and 4-wheeling, and he was a very generous person.  He dearly loved his grandma and her mashed potatoes.

He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Markham; father and step-mother, Larry (Martha) Markham; sister, Neechi (Scot) McGuire; nieces, Samantha and Shaila; grandmothers, Alta Knudsen and Ruth Haagenson; uncles, Ren (Linda), Randy (Jackie), Jeff (Elaine), and Kendall (Rose) Knudsen, Farrell (Melba)  Markham; aunt, Pauline (Merv) Evans; Larry's 5 half sisters; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandpas, Lamont Knudsen and John Markham; and aunts, Juanita Knudsen and Vicky Knudsen.

Friends and family may call Saturday, April 17, 2010 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., Magna.  A celebration will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1104 W. 2100 S.
