Karma Newman McPhie

Karma was born on February 11th, 1930, in Tooele, Utah to Merrill Charles Newman and Eva Anderson. Karma married Evan Keith McPhie on December 6, 1948 in Nevada.

Karma was very passionate about her pets, Nico, Jackie, and her birds Star and Holly.

Grandma. Granny. Grandma Phee. She has waved her final goodbye from the front door — the same one she stood at countless times, sending us off with love. To us, she wasn’t “Karma.” She was Grandma. She was Mom. We’ll remember her for her strong will, giggle-snorts, festive Christmas parties, feisty spirit, and her unapologetic love of McFrugals and tequila. She treated everyone with fairness and held her family and lifelong neighbors close to her heart.

Survived by her daughter, Karma Lee Timmons; sister, Shawnee Nash; and five generations of grandkids.

Preceded in death by her husband, Evan Keith McPhie; son, Keith Craig McPhie; daughter, Kym E. Chaplin-Gallegos; son-in-law, Ronald Timmons; and grandson, William Troy Timmons

A graveside service will be held at the Tooele Cemetery on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
