Katherine Sanford Thomas

1931 - 2010

MAGNA-Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Katherine May Sanford Thomas passed away April 26, 2010 in Magna, Utah.  She was born September 1, 1931 in Delta, Utah to Hyrum Elbert and Florice May Wixom Sanford.  She married Thomas Nalder Thomas September 21, 1953 in Sutherland; he died in May 1977.

Katherine attended Sutherland Elementary School and graduated from Delta High School in 1949, she then attended LDS Business College in 1950-1951.  She had a lifelong love of quilting, cross stitching, scrapbooking and gardening.  She dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed get-togethers with all her grand and great grandchildren.

Tommy and Katherine raised four children, Larry (Donna) Thomas, Scott (Terrie) Thomas, Kathy (Bob) Green, and Gary Thomas.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Keith (Shannon) Sanford, and sisters, Janet (Ward) Stanworth and Phyllis Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Taylor Thomas; and great granddaughter, Courtney Leavitt.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., where friends and family may call 12 - 1 p.m. prior to services.  Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
