1940 ~ 2021

Kay Broadhead, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, passed peacefully at age 80 on Monday evening, May 10, 2021 surrounded by family. Proceeded in death by her husband Thomas Broadhead, parents Veon Winslow, Melvin Petersen, sister Joyce Fisher, grandson Robbie Knowlden, great grandchildren Zachary and Elliot Broadhead, Evangelina Reddin, and Matthew Knowlden.

Kay is survived by her 7 children, Trent Broadhead (Kathryn), Chad Broadhead (Trudi), Urainna Wright (Rick), Bambi Knowlden (Jamie), April McTimmonds (Mike), Jabez Broadhead (Kim), Athena Allen (Terry) and her sister Connie Welsh. Kay has 24 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, with 2 on the way.

Kay was born December 13, 1940 in Charleston Utah.  Kay married Thomas Broadhead on February 17, 1959.

Kay’s happiest memories were of growing up in the Heber Valley playing with her siblings and spending time with her uncles. She enjoyed swimming in the lakes and on one occasion she had to rescue her nephew.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, camping and night fishing.

Some of Kay’s favorite hobbies were gardening, watching old Westerns, musicals and the Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders. She also loved reading and enjoyed authors Janet Evanovich and James Patterson, and many more. Kay also loved to tie off blankets with her mother and daughters.  She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her family.  She enjoyed her warehouse work at ShopKo and working side by side with her daughter.

There will be a viewing held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S. from 12:00–1:00pm. Funeral services will be held immediately afterward from 1:00-2:00pm. Interment will be at Lake Point Cemetery in Tooele County, at 7831 N Mountain View Road.
