Kay Lillywhite

March 5, 1955 — June 18, 2018

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Kay Lynn Lillywhite passed away June 18, 2018 after a tough battle with Cervical Cancer. KayLynn was born March 5, 1955 to Wayne Lowell Jenkins and Lila Mae Smith Jenkins as the 3 rd of 5 children. KayLynn spent her childhood in the Salt Lake Valley, she adored children and made herself known as one of the most sought-after babysitters around, and still communicated and heard from some of those families special to her heart many years later. KayLynn met her sweetheart James Lillywhite and they were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on December 3, 1981 and were blessed with 3 children Kristy Renae, Valerie Kay, and James Bradley.  KayLynn adored serving others. She was a gifted seamstress and was never hesitant to make a dress, a suit, or literally anything else her family, friends, or anyone in her ward needed. She served many years in the primary, chorister was her absolute favorite. Her home and car was constantly filled with music and if it was a children’s choir that was her favorite. KayLynn loved spending time with her 7 grandchildren, Ethan (12, Kristy’s), Zachary (11 Kristy’s), Hunter (10 Kristy’s). Sadie (8 Valerie’s), Kiara (7 Kristy’s), Alexander “Xander” (3 Valerie’s) and Jaxton (2 Kristy’s). They loved coming to visit grandma especially when she pulled out her “magic tape” to measure them for some wonderful new outfit she was going to make them, she even took requests. KayLynn is survived by her husband, three children, seven grandchildren, sister Cindy, brother Earl, Mother in Law, Anna Lou Kurtz, Brother in Laws, Ross Lillywhite (Lerlyn) and Paul Lillywhite (Bonnie), Sister in laws, Julie Madison (Roy), and Sheryl Wardell (Doug), and many nieces and nephews. She will be welcomed home by her mother, Lila, father, Wayne, Sister, Peggy, Sister, Vickie, Grandson, Nathaniel, Father In Law, Leland Jr, and her niece Lenae.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Utah Cancer Specialists, the doctors and nurses on the 9 th floor at IMC, and especially the many brothers and sisters of the Pleasant Green 4 th ward for their time, commitment, and loving care for our beloved KayLynn.  In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations at Zions Bank in the name of KayLynn Lillywhite donation fund.
