LaFay Thornock Driffill Murray Erichsen

Beloved Mother

LaFay Erichsen, age 82, died December 15, 2015 from surgical complications.  She was born September 16, 1933 to Fay Eldon and Nannie Peck Thornock in Logan, UT.  She married Frank Driffill March 8, 1951. Later divorced. She is survived by their five children, Luanne (Lynn) Coon, Jana Rae (Ben) Cahoon, Ken, Dan (Missy), and Glen (Cheryl). Married Grant Murray (divorced) and Wilford Erichsen (divorced).

LaFay graduated from Cyprus High School and the U of U where she earned BS and MEd Degrees.  Her teaching career included West High School, Silverton Public School, and DoDDS in Spain, England and Belgium. She was an active member of the LDS church, serving in many positions. She loved to travel and cultivated lasting friendships all over the world.  LaFay was always busy quilting, cooking and serving those around her.  She lived a full and exciting life and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survived by her loving children, 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and her brother Warren (Sue) Thornock.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Taylorsville 4 ^th Ward, 4310 S. 3200 W., where viewings will be held both Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
