Linda Kaye Evans Christensen passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the Beehive Home in Herriman, UT, surrounded by her family. Linda was born June 3, 1947, to John Edmund and Bernice Hales Evans in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a devoted wife to Roy, her husband of over 52 years, and a loving mother to her three children, Jason, Angela, and Lisa. Roy and Linda were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple on December 2, 1972. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brothers, Baby Robert Joseph and John Richard Evans.
Linda is survived by her husband, Roy; children, Jason (Jennifer), Angela, and Lisa; as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Linda is also survived by three siblings, Arlene (Leon) Robinson, David Evans, Anita (Kim) Openshaw.
Linda graduated from Cyprus High School in 1965, where she was involved in the Commercial, F.H.A., and Art clubs and the Cyprus SeaMaids.
Linda was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served for 2 years as a full-time missionary in the Uruguay-Paraguay Mission. One of the blessings of her mission was that she could interact with anyone and everyone, regardless of their circumstances and would have meaningful conversations with them. Her mission was so important to her that in her declining years, she would respond to many questions with “Uruguay-Paraguay.” Throughout her life, she served in many callings in Stake and Ward Relief Society presidencies, in Primary, as a Stake Youth Sunday School teacher, and participated in Ward and Stake Choirs.
Linda attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City and worked in the Church Office Building as a Secretary. When Roy and Linda decided to start their family, she remained at home as a full-time wife and mother.
Linda actively participated in the PTA at Magna Elementary while her children attended there. She had a deep love for dogs, her own and almost any dog she would encounter. Because of that love, she volunteered at the Humane Society of Utah and the Salt Lake County Animal Shelter.
Linda loved art, and in her later years, she loved to color and invited MANY to come to color with her. A special thank you to Karen Pike for her hours of care and coloring she did with Linda for several years. Also, a special thanks to the staff at the Beehive Home and Canyon Home Health and Hospice for the excellent care they provided her.
