Linda Daniel

Linda Faye Daniel, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Magna, Utah, on September 15, 2026, surrounded by the loved ones who meant so much to her.

Linda was born on March 10, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Moore County, North Carolina. She grew up in Eastwood, North Carolina, and graduated from Pinehurst High School. North Carolina always held a special place in her heart, and she carried her love for her home state with her throughout her life.

Linda married the love of her life, James Randy Daniel, on January 17, 1970. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, travel, and adventure. During the 20 years Randy served in the military, Linda was a loyal and proud military wife, traveling the world by his side and embracing the many places, people, and experiences that became part of their lives together. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed discovering the history and character of the places she visited. She loved meeting new people, trying new things, and making memories wherever her adventures took her.

Linda spent more than 20 years working in banking, where she was well respected by those who knew and worked with her. She later retired from the Bureau of Reclamation.

Above all else, Linda loved her family. She adored her children, David Daniel and Jaime Lewis, and was immensely proud of them and all they accomplished. Her family was the center of her world, and she would do anything for the people she loved.

Linda was a loving and accepting person with a heart that seemed to have room for everyone. She was a loyal friend, a fiercely independent woman, and someone who was never afraid to try something new or embark on an adventure. She had a gentle soul and a fierce heart. She could walk into a room full of strangers and leave having made friends. She was loved by so many of the people fortunate enough to know her .

She found joy in countless things throughout her life. She loved North Carolina, the North Carolina Cardinals, the University of Utah Utes, the Carolina Panthers, and the North Carolina Tar Heels. She loved the arts, especially ballet and plays, and enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, and Dolly Parton.

Linda had a creative spirit and loved crafts, painting, ceramics, and antiques. Her travels often became part of her collections, including the commemorative spoons she gathered from the places she visited. She took great pride in her home and especially loved Christmas, decorating her tree with cherished ornaments that had been received or created throughout the years. Each ornament held a story and a memory, just as so many things in her home did.

Linda is survived by her husband, James Randy Daniel; her children David Daniel and his wife, Diana Griffith, Jaime Lewis and her husband, Mark Lewis; her sister, Frances Pickler; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Williams; her father, Raymond Williams; her brother, Billy Ray Williams; and her mother-in-law, Evelyn Aime.

Linda did not wish to have a funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

No donations or flowers are requested in her memory.

Linda will be deeply missed. There will never be another person like her in our lives. Her big heart, courageous spirit, fierce independence, gentle soul, and unconditional love will remain with everyone who knew her. Though her absence leaves an enormous space in the lives of her family and friends, they find comfort in knowing that she is now in a better place, surrounded once again by the loving family and friends who went before her.

Her life was an adventure, her heart was her greatest gift, and she left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
