Lom Bouthviset
October 3, 1968 – April 14, 2025
Lom Bouthviset, 56, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 3, 1968, to Saman and Houng Thongdarom, Lom was the youngest of six children. She was loved dearly by her siblings: Ounkham Thongdarom, Jennifer Savanh, Bountham Sivilay, Ammy Soumphonphakdy, and Tanom Thongdarom. Lom carried the warmth of her family with her throughout her life and deeply cherished the bond she shared with each of them.
She married the love of her life, Rich Bouthviset, on April 28, 1993, in Rockville, Maryland. Together they raised two children, Bruce and Colyn Bouthviset. Her beloved husband Rich passed away before her, and now they are reunited.
Lom was a hardworking woman who never shied away from responsibility often working 12 or more hours a day and always willing to go the extra mile. Her strong work ethic was matched by her deep love for her family. She adored being a grandma and found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
Bruce’s children—Royce, Tungsten, Khaison and Colyn’s children—Dreyson, Royal, Kazri, and Keziyah—were the light of her life. Her love for them knew no bounds, and her legacy lives on through each of them.
Lom enjoyed the simple things that brought her peace and joy: watching NFL football games, camping trips, fishing by the water, and conversations with her sisters that often turned into hours of laughter and connection.
She is survived by her children Bruce and Colyn, her seven grandchildren, her parents Saman and Houng Thongdarom, her five siblings, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her deeply.
To her family:Lom’s love was a quiet strength—steady, dependable, and always present. She gave without hesitation and cared without limits. Her memory will be cherished in every shared story, every hug passed down, and every moment of joy we hold onto. She lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
