Lorraine Tuttle

1940-2022

Lorraine Weiss Tuttle - loving mother, grandmother, and devoted friend, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022 in her home. She was born September 24, 1940 in Salt Lake City to Vernon Loy and Lucinda Hastings Weiss.

Lorraine grew up in her beloved Garfield, Utah and was always proud of her friendships there. After graduating from Cyprus High School, she remained deeply connected to her friends. Zion’s Bank and O.C. Tanner were among her favorite part time and full time jobs. As loyal wife to Nathan Tuttle, Lorraine had great joy when she was sealed to him and her children for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple in 1977. Lorraine adored raising their five children, helping them develop compassion and a desire to serve others. She made life full of adventure using modest means. Nothing made her happier than celebrating family birthdays and holidays with family throughout the decades.

She worked energetically in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary organizations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She particularly loved the youth - getting to know them personally and showing great interest in their lives.

Lorraine’s life changed dramatically when she developed complications after donating her kidney to her dear sister, Janice. Through her positive attitude and infectious smile, she found peace as she reflected her Savior’s love.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan; son, Tim; and sister, Janice.

She is survived by her children, Tonnie (Mike Killpack), Tom (Heather Cannon), Tammy (Mike Ashley), and Tracy (Lyman Smith); brother, Jack Weiss; and many grandchildren.

Her family expresses thanks to the kind and excellent caregivers at Valeo Hospice.
