Melaine Grace Carter Harding, 73 passed away June 13, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Finally freed from her pain, after a lifetime of health problems.
Melanie was born Feb 26, 1950 in Salt lake City, Utah to Clifford and Virginia Buckalew Carter, the first of four children born to her parents. She lived the first 5 years of her life in Garfield Utah. There she was blessed to be neighbors and best friends with her grandmother, Grace Buckalew, who often played the piano for her.
In 1955, Melanie moved with her family to Magna, Utah. She began to suffer problems with her health early in her life. That continued through most of her Elementary School years.
Melanie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When she was old enough, she served an LDS Mission in Upper New York State. A highlight of her mission was having the opportunity to participate in the Hill Cumorah Pagent.
Following her mission, she went to Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. But she returned home early, when her father passed away, to help her family.
Melanie married (was sealed in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple to) LaMarr Howard Harding in 1978. They were blessed with two wonderful children, LaMarr and Emma-Lee.
During her married life, Melaine tended children and was able to take care of her mother. She lived a life of service and sacrifice.
Melanie loved all children. Instantly loving any child she met.
Later in her life, Melanie was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Kaylynn, Lillianna and Nathanael, born to be her very own. She loved them all dearly. They were the joy of her life. She was able to have many wonderful adventures together with them throughout her life.
Melaine was preceded in death by her son, La Marr Howard Harding II; and her parents, Clifford and Virginia Buckalew Carter.
Melaine is survived by her husband, LaMarr Harding; her daughter and son in law, Emma-Lee and Thomas Hood and her grandchildren, Kaylynn, Lillianna, and Nathanael Hood; her brothers and their wives, Randy and Cheere Carter, Mark and Marilee Carter; and her sister and brother in law, Cliffette and Jim Munson; as well as countless nieces and nephews.
