Paula Veronica “Love” Herrera

May 19, 1977 – April 9, 2026

Paula Veronica Herrera, age 48, passed away in Las Vegas on April 9, 2026. Born on May 19, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah, she spent most of her life there and graduated from Cyprus High School.

Paula dedicated many years to hard work and service. She spent 25 years as a waitress and hostess at her grandfather’s beloved restaurant, El Rancho Grande, a staple in the Kearns community for 40 years. She later worked in production and for three years at her sister’s restaurant, Boss’s Smoked Barbecue in Las Vegas. In the final chapter of her life, Paula found deep purpose as a humanitarian, devoting herself wholeheartedly to helping the homeless, the poor, and anyone in need. She was a positive, uplifting presence and friend to so many.

Paula had a heart as big as the sky. Open-hearted, accepting, loving, and caring, she was a true matriarch—tough, stern when needed, yet endlessly compassionate. Though she had no biological children, she was a second mother to countless people. She embraced many as her spiritual children, always ready to spread love, offer support, and be there for those who needed help the most. She loved Jesus and God deeply, cherished oldies music, adored Betty Boop, and lived for having a good time. Toward the end of her life, her profound belief in boundless love and faith led her to consider changing her middle name to “Love.”

She is survived by her mother, Christine Gallegos (Bernardo) and husband Porfirio Guadarrama; her oldest sister, Tina Ifopo and husband Michael Ifopo; her sister, Bernadette Herrera Eason and husband Derrick Eason; her youngest brother, Paul Herrera; and her half-sister, Antonette Martinez. She is also survived by her 11 biological nieces and nephews, including some half nieces and nephews, as well as many of her spiritual children who held a special place in her heart.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, Paul Bernie Herrera (1990); and her maternal grandparents, Eluterio Gallegos (2017) and Agnes Gallegos (2020).

Paula’s legacy is one of unconditional love, strength, and service. She touched countless lives with her warmth, her generosity, and her unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
