IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Renee Katherine
Razzeca
March 18, 1932 – November 11, 2025
(Renee Razzeca passed away on November 11th, 2025, in her home from complications related to leukemia. She was 89 years old (for the fourth time) and was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She was born in Paris, Idaho, to Veda Poulsen in 1932, and moved to the Magna area as a child. She graduated from Cyprus High School and married Paul Razzeca, with whom she lived happily for 58 years until his death in 2008. She raised six wonderful and successful children in fields such as power generation, medicine, finance, education, and health and safety.
She worked for over 20 years at Holy Cross Hospital Credit Union and retired only when it closed. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Magna, where she would attend daily mass with her friends until health issues prevented her from doing so.
Her eyes would light up as she recalled fond memories and told stories of her great childhood exploring the Bear Lake Valley with her many cousins, the beautiful little church in Magna, the old Italian community making wine, and the many exploits of her six children and their friends. She was an avid reader and later in her life would read over 100 books per year and recount them to all of us in such detail that we, too, felt like we had read them.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, daughter Pamela, and mother Veda.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Jane), Kristin (Stephen), Timothy (Jill), Suzanne (Nicholas), and Richard, her grandchildren Jennifer, Stephen, Thomas, Amelia, Kristin, Hannah, William, and Skyler, her great grandchildren, Rocco, Renzo, Tino, Tessa, Lucas, Mila, Olivia, Reese, and her son-in-law Stephen McCaughey.
A special thanks to Rick, Hannah and her husband Ryan, and Will, who provided the care that Mom needed for a number of years, and to the wonderful care team at Utah Home Health and Hospice, especially Tristen and Michael.
A private funeral service will be held for the family, and there will be a celebration of life open to family and friends next March.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the John Colosimo Memorial Endowment (https://dioslc.org/donate-cfu/endowment-705), Huntsman Cancer Institute (https://healthcare.utah.edu/huntsmancancerinstitute/foundation), or Our Lady of Lourdes Magna Parish (2840 S 9000 W, Magna, UT 84044).
