Robert B. Dea

1911 - 2010

MAGNA, UT-    I, Robert Briggs Dea, began my schooling of life on December 29, 1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of John William and Eugenie Pettersson Dea. I peacefully left this world August 31, 2010.

It has been a wonderful and challenging life filled with joys and sorrows, hard times and good times, with loving and caring parents, two brothers and two sisters.  On June 20, 1933 La Von Singleton became my beloved eternal companion and together we were blessed with four sons.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings.  I also served as a volunteer firefighter for many years, and retired from Kennecott Copper after 42 years.

I am survived by my wife, La Von; sons, Robert (Ida) Dea, Kay (Donna) Dea, and Dennis (Kathy) Dea. I have been blessed with 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren who brought joy into our lives.  I leave unto them the riches and gifts of the world, my love, wisdom, humor, and memories.

I was preceded in death by my parents; son, Jay; brothers, Carl and John; and sisters, Esther James and Jean Alverson.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 W. 3320 S.  Friends and family may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., and Saturday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
