Rodney (Rod) Leon Bowen, 66, returned peacefully to his heavenly father on April 28, 2018 surrounded by his family. Rod was born on February 26, 1952. Rod grew up in Hunter Utah; he graduated from Cyprus High School. Rod served in the Army and the US Navy. He loved small town living. Fishing in the Flaming Gorge Lake and hunting in the Uintah mountains. He enjoyed the country drives listening to his Willie Nelson or Eagles. Rod loved his sports, he was a Yankees and Green Bay fan and although all his kids are Utah fans, he was a huge BYU fan. Rod also enjoyed a good game of pool with his buddy Ron and friends. Survived by his children, Travis (Ami) Bowen, Niki Bowen Tomecek, Robert (Krystal) Bowen, Ryan (Maggie) Bowen, sister; Lynne (Sherman) Smith, brother, Rick(Pat) Summers, brother, Kenneth Bowen, sister; Linda(Chuck) Bowen, brother, Donald (Cathy) Bowen, brother; Greg Lindsey, seven grandchildren. Rod is preceded in death by his parents; Ray and Marilyn Bowen and his two furry friends Sparky and Cindy Lou. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 05, 2018 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S Magna, Utah. Family and Friends are welcome to come at 11:00 a.m. to pay their respects. Burial will be at a later date in Wellsville, Utah.
