Shane Wendell Spackman said his last, “O.K. Bye.” and returned home to his Father in Heaven on September 4, 2025. It was surely a joyous reunion for Shane and his wonderful parents!
Shane was born in Logan, Utah, on November 19, 1966. Shortly after his birth, there were some complications that afflicted Shane for the remainder of his life. Neither Shane nor his parents let those physical and mental limitations stop him. Shane was a constant miracle to the healthcare providers in his life, beating the odds time and again.
For those who knew him well, he was a caring, kind, and funny man. Shane also had a quick wit that could surprise you and a mischievous side to him that came out a lot. He especially delighted in doing what most older brothers do and tease his younger brothers. Shane loved people and never met anyone he didn’t end up calling a friend. He fought through many aches and pains his entire life to do the things he wanted to do. He was nursed through many health scares first by his parents and then by his brothers. He always seemed to come through with a good attitude and a smile. That example will be sorely missed.
Shane loved the primary songs. Especially singing them in primary. Every time his special needs mutual ended a sacrament program, they always sang, I Am a Child of God. It was one of Shane’s favorite hymns.
Shane is survived by his three brothers: Jared (RaeAnne) Thayne, Ryan (Amanda) Spackman, and Brad (Tahsha) Spackman. His nieces and nephews: Kjersten Thayne, Katie (Brady) Holt, Avery Thayne, Lucas (Gabriel) Spackman, Corbin (Jillane) Spackman, Matthew Spackman, Noah Thayne, Rylee Spackman, Reece Spackman, Sebastian Spackman, Shailey Spackman, Aubrey Spackman, Charlotte Spackman and one great-niece, Chloe Holt. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Loretta Spackman, all his grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on September 11, 2025, at the Elk Run Building (3610 S 8400 W, Magna, UT) at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held on September 10, 2025, from 6:00p - 8:00p p.m. at Peel Funeral Home (8525 W 2700 S, Magna, UT) and one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Estates next to his parents.
