Born May 4th 1971
Passed Away February 5th 2020
On February 5th, 2020, Our Lord called our mother Sheila Herrera home to rest in him. She was a beautiful daughter, mother, sister, and friend to those whom she left behind.
Sheila was born May 4th, 1971 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ernaldo and Esther Herrera and was the youngest of their 6 children. She grew up in Magna, Utah and although she spent some time living in Seattle Washington, she always knew Magna was her home.
Sheila was a bigger than life spirit with a contagious laugh that could fill a room. She loved her mariachi music, her oldies and a good cruise in her convertible topped off with a dance to a New Mexico cumbia. She had a deep love for God and kept her faith no matter her circumstances, she used to always say “The Lord Knows I’m Hardheaded”. She cared deeply for her Grandchildren and often spent time caring for her parents, she loved them all fiercely and was so proud of her daughters.
She is Survived by her children Estella Munoz, Rachel Munoz, April Munoz and their father Mark Munoz. Grandchildren Reyna Kilpack, Angelo Pastrana, Caroline and Casandra Pastrana, Valarie Kilpack, Ella Munoz, Luna Martinez, Dimitrius Kilpack and Jovahny Kilpack. Her Parents Ernaldo and Esther Herrera and siblings Pearl (Ken) Lindstrom, Sylvia (Mark) Bauman, Felicia (Dale) Bench, Wanda Herrera, and Ernie Herrera. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will forever carry her love with them.
A viewing will be held Thursday, February 13th at 6:30 PM followed by a Rosary at 7:30 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 2840 South 9000 West, Magna, UT 84044. And funeral services will be held Friday, February 14th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Of Lourdes followed by the burial at Pleasant Green Cemetery located at 9200 West 3500 South, where her mariachi’s will blow the trumpets for her like she always wanted.
We Love you Mom, we will miss your smile, your laugh and sarcasm the most. You were always giving us a hard time for your own amusement and we would give so much to have it back. You made sure you raised us girls tough for a reason and now we will be strong for you and make you proud.
“Lo! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”
